John Barrick, Head Coach
Coach John Barrick is entering his 7th season as the Head Coach of Trinity’s girls Volleyball team. Coach Barrick has years of coaching experience at the high school and college level. He’s coached at Central Penn College for 4 seasons, Central Dauphin boys team for 10 seasons, Central Dauphin East girls team for 4 seasons, Trinity girls for seven seasons and counting, and Club Volleyball for the Central PA area for 10 seasons.
In addition to prolific coaching experiences, Coach Barrick has met with success repeatedly on the court. In 2009, the boys team at Central Dauphin won the State Championship. He has four times led Trinity girls to be Division Winners, and he’s been awarded Mid-Penn Coach of the Year.
As a player himself, Coach Barrick was a two-time Varsity Letter winner at Central Dauphin in boys volleyball. And he keeps his skills in top shape by playing in a rec volleyball league at Lower Paxton. He’s also played in thousands of tournaments all over the country.
Coach gives countless hours to coach because he hopes to affect positive and trans-formative change in his players, making them better people and preparing them for college and life beyond. Barrick coaches at Trinity because he wishes he would have received a Catholic High School education when he was younger, and if he had been able, he would have chosen that path for himself. He says, “Trinity is a special place and I count my blessings each day I am able to be part of the school. I hope to coach at Trinity until I’m in my 80s!”
Coach Barrick lives with his wife, Danelle, and two children-Tommy (6th grade) and Evan (5th grade) in Linglestown.
